Tell us and we will correct it. A misspelt name, a wrong affiliation, a typo in the text: these are all fixable after publication, and you do not have to do anything beyond telling us what is wrong.
What to send
Write to contact@asidejournals.com with:
- The link to the article page.
- The text exactly as it appears now.
- The text exactly as it should read.
Point 3 matters more than it looks. We will copy what you send into the record, so a correction written out in full is faster and safer than a description of the problem.
What happens next
We check the article as it is published, confirm the error is there, and then make the change in three places:
- The article page, which is what readers see first.
- The PDF, which is a separate file and does not update by itself.
- The record deposited with Crossref, which is what indexing services and reference managers read.
All three matter. A correction made only on the article page leaves the old version circulating through the services that copied it.
You do not need to do anything for the second and third. We do not ask you for a corrected PDF.
When it will be done
We will confirm to you when the change is live, and we will not give you a date before the work is scheduled. If you need it corrected by a particular date, say so and say why, and we will tell you what is possible.
Changes that are not corrections
Some changes are more than a fix to the published record: adding or removing an author, changing what the article concludes, or replacing data. These are handled differently, and the editor of {{journal}} decides how. Write to us in the same way, describe what needs to change and why, and we will pass it to the editor rather than making the edit.
If you found the error in a version elsewhere
If a copy of your article on another site is wrong but ours is correct, we cannot change the other site. Tell us anyway. Once our record and the Crossref deposit are right, the sites that take their data from us pick up the corrected version in their own time.
